Club News 2015–2021

• 14^th September 2021… Many congratulations to Sensei Anthony Holt who successfully passed his 4^th Dan grading tonight at the Watford dojo of Seishinkai Shotokan Karate International in front of the Association’s senior grading panel of: Sensei Malcolm Phipps 9^th Dan, Sensei Tony Bunting 7^thh Dan and Sensei Jeff Carson 6^th Dan. An excellent performance and a grade that is well deserved.

  

• 4^th December 2019… Congratulations to Isaak Nathan on achieving Nidan last Wednesday evening! Dan grades are always daunting but to take it all your own is even more so! So well done Isaak!!!

  

• 12^th June 2019… Huge congratulations to our club instructor Vicky Adams on a fantastic grading, and achieving Yondan (4^th Dan black belt)! The grading consisted of her designated kata Gojushiho–dai followed by its bunkai with Vicky’s chosen kumite team of Steph Farrer 3^rd Dan and Steven Barton 3^rd Dan, followed by a one–hour lesson on the use of the preparation part of basic blocks: Vicky taught it as a basic, as a jiyu–ippon kumite technique and finally as a self–defence move. As ever, the grading panel consisted of the Chief Instructor Sensei Malcolm Phipps 8^th Dan, the Assistant Chief Instructor Tony Bunting 7^th Dan and the Chief Referee Jeff Carson 5^th Dan.

  

• 8^th December 2018… Congratulations to our club instructor Steph Farrer on gaining her Sandan black belt! She was part of small group of karateka taking dan gradings, and all were successful on the day. Well done all round!

  

• 16^th December 2017… Congratulations to Isaak Nathan on gaining his Shodan black belt! All of us at the club were very proud of you: it was an brilliant grading!

  

• 5^th December 2015… Congratulations to our sensei, Tony Bunting on being awarded his 7^th Dan! We are all very proud of you!
